本研究之目的在探討三名國小高年級患有黃斑部病變之低視力學生分別使用光學輔具及大字書進行實驗處理後，兩種不同的閱讀媒介在閱讀速度、閱讀理解率及閱讀距離上之效能。實驗設計採單一受試者實驗設計之交替處理，分為基線期A、介入期B及持續介入期B’進行實驗，並針對施測者、環境光源、施測紙本、同時效應及次序效應等混淆變項進行控制。實驗結果以視覺分析合併C統計對數據進行分析，用以解釋受試者實驗處理效果。研究結果如下：

一、 光學輔具在閱讀速度上結果因受試者而異，閱讀理解率皆達80%
以上效果，閱讀距離皆最具顯著效能。
二、大字書在閱讀速度上皆最具顯著效能，閱讀理解率皆達80%
以上效果，閱讀距離具顯著效能。
三、整體而言，大字書在平均閱讀速度上優於光學輔具，兩閱讀媒介之閱讀理解率則無顯著差異，光學輔具在閱讀距離上顯著優於大字書。

The purpose of this study was to compare reading performance with optical device and large type which in speed,comprehension rate and distance in three primary school senior students of low vision with macular lesions. The experimental methodology adopted was alternating treatment of single-subject experimental design with three phases experimental procedure. Confounding variables of examiner, ambient light, examine paper, the same time effects,serial position effect and order effects were controlled in this study variables. The data was treated by visual analysis combined with C statistics and the findings were as follows：

1. The optical device in reading speed result varies depending on three participant. Reading comprehension rate all over 80% and reading distance were the most significant efficiency.
2. The large print in the reading speed on three participant which the most significant efficiency. Reading comprehension rate all over 80% and effectiveness with significant distance.
3. Over all, the large print are on the average reading speed superior optical device but contrary to reading distance. Two reading medium are no significant differences in reading comprehension rate
