本研究主要在探討台灣大學生在回應讚美時，心理層面及熟悉度兩項因素是否會影響讚美回應語的使用。參與研究者共有30位男性及30位女性，其均來自台灣北部大學。研究方法使用「語篇完成測驗」的方式蒐集資料。 研究結果顯示被讚美者心理層面「同意與否」及讚美雙方的「熟悉度」均會影響參與者讚美回應策略之使用。當參與者同意該讚美內容時，「接受」策略比例較高，反之則是「拒絕」策略比例較高。當被讚美者與讚美者熟悉時，較常使用「拒絕」策略，反之則較常使用「接受」策略。本文最後依此研究結果提出對教學與未來研究之建議。

This study aims to investigate whether the Taiwanese college students’ compliment responses were associated with two factors (i.e., mindset and familiarity). The participants included 30 male and 30 female college students from the universities of northern Taiwan. The discourse completion task was used to collect data. The results showed that both factors, mindset and familiarity, were significantly related to the participants’ compliment responses. When the participants agreed with the compliments, they would use more “acceptance” strategy. When they disagreed with the compliments, the “rejection” strategy would be dominantly used. In addition, when the participants are familiar with the complimentors, the “rejection” strategy was used more. On the other hand, if they were not familiar with the complimentors, the “acceptance” strategy would be more frequently used. Based on these findings, some pedagogical implications and future research suggestions were provided.
