Teachers are educators standing on the front line of education, who have to shoulder more responsibility and more expectations giving by the society because of a series of education reforms lately. As teachers, we not only have to keep learning constantly, teaching with the latest methodology, but also have to establish consensus with parents on the development of their kids, using our specialty and patience.
I am a teacher as well as an administrative staff in an elementary school. The study is to re-realize the positive value of education and gain self-actualization through the process of creating linocut works. By the influence of aforementioned positive strength, I devote myself to education more proactively and passionately.
The study includes 5 chapters. Chapter 1 is introduction, which covers the motivation, purpose, and methodology of the study. Based on the search for the lost enthusiasm for education, the study starts with the observation of campus.
Chapter 2 is the theoretical basis. This chapter probes self-actualization and peak experience in psychology, campus observation in education theories, and the aesthetic of distance. The chapter also explores the elements that influence my creation in the woodcuts of Conrad Felixmuller of German Expressionism and the linocut of Pablo Picasso.
Chapter 3 is the creation practice. This chapter explores the creation philosophy, contents, forms, and techniques of the study, which is supported by the aforementioned theories.
Chapter 4 is the interpretation of my creation. This chapter analyzes the perspectives, forms, techniques, and the education concepts of my creation.
Chapter 5 is the conclusion. Through the process of study, my creation ability is elevated and my enthusiasm for education is stirred. My future direction is confirmed and lifted to a higher level.
