路德維西．范．貝多芬（Ludwig Van Beethoven, 1770~1827），貝多芬所處的時代為18世紀末至19世紀初，為一個動盪的時代背景。在這個動盪的時代裡，法國大革命的發生，拿破崙對社會的改革以及狂飆運動等因素，影響了當時音樂文化環境，像在音樂家與貴族間贊助關係的形成、各行各業擁有職業自由的權利、自由的出版環境等方面，相較於海頓與莫札特所處的時代，貝多芬更能自由的創作音樂。
　　貝多芬是古典樂派的改革者，貝多芬在創作英雄交響曲時，創作手法已脫離先前莫札特、海頓的創作風格，貝多芬的創作時期分為早期、中期、晚期，貝多芬創作五首大提琴奏鳴曲，分別在貝多芬創作時期的早期、中期、晚期。此篇論文貝多芬《大提琴奏鳴曲作品102-2》為貝多芬晚期的作品，此首作品的創作特徵與早期、中期所創作的大提琴奏鳴曲的創作特徵互相比較，由此可知貝多芬晚期創作的明顯特徵。
　　本文貝多芬《大提琴奏鳴曲作品102-2》共分為五章。第一章說明本文之研究動機、研究的範圍與方法。第二章介紹貝多芬的時代背景、生平以及作品風格。第三章介紹樂曲的創作背景以及針對樂曲本身進行樂曲分析與探討。第四章對樂曲本身的詮釋進行說明。第五章對本論文的論述做總結。

Ludwig van Beethoven’s (1770~1827) time, from the end of 18th century to
the Early 19th century, was a turbulent era. During this period of time, there was
the political and social unrest—the outbreak of French Revolution, Napoleon’s reformation, and Sturm and Drang movement—that influenced the musical
culture and environment. One example was the freedom of publication;
Beethoven had more freedom to compose than Hayden and Mozart.
Beethoven was a reformer of classical music. When he composed Eroic
symphony, his technique departed from Mozart’s and Hayden’s style.
Beethoven’s musical life can be divided into three periods: the early period,
the middle period, and the late period.
Beethoven’s Cello Sonata No. 5, Op 102 No.2 was created during the late
period. When compared with other cello sonatas composed in the early and the middle period, this work shows distinctive features known for works created during Beethoven’s late period.
The thesis is entitled “The Analysis and Interpretation of L. V. Beethoven's
Cello Sonata No.5 in D Major Op.102 No.2” and comprised of five chapters. The first chapter reveals the research motive and methodology. The second
chapter discusses Beethoven’s time, life and compositional style. The third chapter is an analysis of the cello sonata. The fourth chapter deals with musical detail, explaining interpretation. The fifth chapter is the conclusion of the cello
sonata analysis.
