本論文從錄像創作探討：「都會中的人際疏離」。由於當代媒介中心漸從過去的「固定、永久、定位」轉為「流動、變通、開放」模式，因而使得人們得以隨時、隨處的分享到資源，生活也藉由媒介的傳輸而增利其便利性。藉由手機錄像的即「時性閱讀」探討都會人在生活裡，漸從過往面對面的接觸與言談，轉變成由媒體為中介的傳遞方式。於是，人與人的溝通也變得沉默，而聲音的傳遞轉更由文字與圖像的大量交流，使得聽覺漸轉為視覺語彙。

本論文相關的文獻探討，先從都會人的結構形成為開端，引述康德的概念:「人期望脫離自己“寓所”的宿願」，使得都會形成流動人口的匯集地域，進而從居所轉換，闡明人的變動性與環境中「他人」行為和「自我」的連結，而從此連結關係裡，探討「自我」在人際關係中的定位。再者，大都會生態中，由於個人主義盛行，產生了個人中心的生活型態，於是人與人之間的相處也漸產生了隔閡。事實上，都會中的疏離感使得人際產生距離，人如同孤島般，不與陌生人有所接觸，因而更如同隱形人般。

簡述個人創作形式的改變，由過去的傳統攝影器材拍攝，轉而藉手機的便利性，拍攝日常所觀察的人際相處關係；作品也由精細轉至樸拙而親近於生活。和本論文相對應探討都會人際關係的錄像創作，主要是試從手機錄影的流動影像，談論當代人際生活的模式。創作內容的實體，則是（一）描述現代生活中交通的繁雜與混亂；（二）大眾運輸工具裡人與人間的互不干擾狀態；（三）都會人生活對話中，冷漠言談間的疏離狀態。

Based on different works in video, the paper focuses in
discussing the sense of alienation between people in the
metropolis. When the ways of transporting media become open,
fluent and rapid changing, the old concept as “stability”
and “eternity” were passed. And through of the fast and easy
resource-sharing networks, life becomes more convenient
undoubtedly. According to the sense of instant reading, the
paper uses the videos in mobile device to probe into the
communicating ways of modern people. From the old face-to-
face communication to using media for exchanging messages,
the real voice changes into the visual language like
pictures and written words.

In the beginning, the paper starts from the forming-
process of the structure of modern people by the thoughts of
Immanuel Kant. On the basis of his idea that people have the
will to depart from their own place, the metropolis would
form as an area for these flowing people. And being converted from their own places, the paper would talk about the connection between the self and others’ behaviors. Moreover, from the analysis, it would discuss the self-position in the interpersonal relationships and the changeable characteristics of human being. Besides, the individualism that causes the self-center life style is an important issue as well. The indifferent alienations make a huge gap between each-others in the metropolis, and the growing distance builds every person a lonely island. They live in their own world without getting in touch with strangers. The silent life style gives the protective coloration and forms the secret self-space that everyone is totally alone in the city.

And for the creative form of expression, those mobile device cameras replace the traditional photography tools. Therefore, they can make good use of its conveniences to record the daily observations of different relationships. The rough works substitute for the delicate ones that they are getting closer to the real life. Through those videos of mobile device, we cannot only discuss the relationships but also the indifferent phenomenon. In addition, in contrast of traffic chaos, the independent self-spaces in the public transportation system strengthen the contradiction. These topics can be seen in this series of work.
