The purpose of this study is to investigate students’ class reading environment, teaching beliefs in reading and reading attitude in the elementary schools, and to explore the differences and relationship among class reading environment, teaching beliefs in reading and reading attitude under different class reading environment and reading-teaching beliefs. The method of this study is to adapt the questionnaire survey for high graders in Taipei as samples. The instrument of this study is to take reading condition survey for elementary school students in Taipei, and to analyze the numerical data by statistics, including descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson product-moment relationship. The results of this study are as the following: 1. Students of high graders in Taipei have good class reading environment and reading attitude. 2. Students of high graders in Taipei perceive reading-teaching beliefs are inclined to student-center approach. 3. In the terms of the class reading environment and the reading-teaching beliefs, there is significant difference on reading attitude. 4. There is significant positive relationship between class reading environment and reading attitude, between reading-teaching beliefs and reading attitude, and among class reading environment, reading-teaching beliefs, and reading attitude. Finally, according to above results, author offers some implications and recommendations for teachers, schools, educational authority, and people concerned as reference.
